My dear Harold, If I asked you to come here and tried to tell you all this instead of write I could not get it in for want of time & I should perhaps forget items. Unfortunately I am to have an operation on the 18 and it would have been tomorrow only there isn't a place for me. It is necessary therefore that I just clear all things I can, so I will write carefully.
I have sent Miss Wynhall Kenneth's fees (milk & stationary included) until the end of July, and have arranged that Miss Ramsay will settle his bills each term, Miss Wynhall sending the account to her direct as she has done to me. I know perfectly well the temptation to use the money for other purposes and for safety's sake want it absolutely kept for his schooling. Miss Ramsay, herself head of a big school, will watch his progress & when he is older may advise other schooling.
That I don't know. Matron for love of me loves Kenneth too & will be a friend to him.
Both ladies have offered to do this because they love me and for me — the child.
Will you come and see? Not in visiting time
but I will ask Sister if she can let you
come on SaturdayFriday at 6 p.m.
No one else will be here then & we can talk. You know I offered for Missionary Work & came home for Mother from that work. I could have, at her death, bought an annuity but I just wanted to work on. So I shall have some money left. Part of it goes to Missionary use and some will come to you. There will be enough for you to pay £100 you owe on the house & free yourself of debt & make on the house. In any case it enables you to live rent free but in any case I do hope you will clear up that house money. Then you will feel so free. I have done what I could for Kenneth & I love him.
Take care of his character. I am sure that he is a generous hearted, loving & straight wee boy. If you spoil him he won't be what he can be. I have found him very dear & remember
